A person is carefully working outdoors, using a hammer on a rock, dressed in a brown jacket and green pants, with a ponytail.

Sarah has her bachelor of science degree in anthropology with a concentration in archaeology and is currently finishing her thesis for her masters, with an emphasis in archaeology and faunal analysis. She has worked in South Africa as an excavator and archaeologist at the site of Likonong in 2024. In 2026 she worked at the Cradle of humankind and conducted research at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. Sarah started working as an archaeologist for the Calaveras County Resource Conservation District in 2023.

“I love serving this community, I enjoy working outside and providing my expertise in cultural resources as well as youth education concerning both cultural resources and conservation. I believe that all children are curious and I want to model how hard work and dedication can lead to amazing opportunities -after all, archaeologists are just kids who never stopped playing in the dirt.”
