Q& A
NW Calaveras Fuel Reduction--Handwork
The following are questions the CCRCD received about the NW Calaveras Fuel Reduction—Handwork RFP that was posted May 13th, 2026. The questions were received either in formal writing or verbally during the mandatory pre-bid tour hosted on May 26th, 2026.
1. Is this contract subject to prevailing wage?
No.
2. Does the CCRCD want a separate cost for creating piles and burning them?
When providing a cost for pile/burning, assume all piles created will be burned and provide one cost per acre.
3. Are all piles required to be covered with burn paper?
Covering the piles is optional but preferred. Burn paper is the material required for covering piles and tarps are not allowed.
4. Are piles considered complete treatment prior to burning for invoicing purposes?
No, treatment for an area or unit being piled/burned will be considered complete after piles are burned. If piles are created and subsequently cannot be burned, the CCRCD will allow contractors to invoice after CAL FIRE inspection.
5. If burning is the contractor’s responsibility, will CCRCD coordinate burn windows and CAL FIRE approvals?
The CCRCD will work with the selected contractor to coordinate burn windows and CAL FIRE approvals.
