Hunter 2026 Connectivity Project
Awarded in 2026, the Hunter 2026 Connectivity Project is funded by PG&E. This project was created to compliment existing treatment in the area recently completed by Utica Water & Power Authority.
The Hunter Connectivity Project was designed to protect the homes, utility ditch and recreation resources around Hunter Reservoir. Treatments will largely consist of mastication, with some handwork as needed.
Project Points
- Treatments will be provided completely free of cost to participating landowners
- Calaveras County RCD is responsible for contracting and organizing all fuel reduction treatments
- Treatments will be chosen based on prescriptions created by a Registered Professional Forester and with final approval by landowner
- Treatments will only occur when it is deemed that there is limited fire threat, such out of fire season and in compliance with daily USFS Project Activity Levels.
- Properties were selected based on areas left untreated during the original project.
- All activities related to the project will be completed by December 2026.
