REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS - ARCHEAOLOGY

The Calaveras County Resource Conservation District (CCRCD) in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is planning multiple fuel reduction projects within the Butte Fire Burn scar on BLM land. These projects total up to 4,718 acres. The projects’ objectives are to remove hazardous dead standing and fallen trees, reduce fuels strategically to protect homes/communities from wildfire and protect ecological resources.

The BLM has awarded funds to complete the Class III archaeology surveying and reporting required to approve NEPA for these acres. There is a variety of survey/reporting needs across these projects. Most require full Class III surveying, including literature reviews, in field Class III Surveys, final reports and any associated DPR forms. Some projects have up to date surveys, but documented sites that require evaluation and associated reporting.

Contractors are required to provide proof of up-to-date ARPA and California Cultural Resource Use permits with bid proposal. Once contracted, a Field Work Authorization (FWA) must be obtained through the Motherlode Field Office, BLM in El Dorado Hills, CA.
